An understanding of depiction is required in all fields of scientific research. Initially described by language, approaches for verbalizing artistic processes and visual information (e.g. arts-based research, design thinking, visual methodologies) have been gaining more attention. In this session, we will explore how the Faculty of Art and Design contributes to scientific research through art theory exchanging with other research areas.　

At TGSW2020, we will organize international sessions including a keynote speech, and oral presentations/ lightning talks. We are calling for papers on topics specifically related to the session theme, but broader topics related to the subject of Art and Design are also welcome. Abstracts will all be reviewed by the Review Committee comprising our faculty and external reviewers/scholars from industries, governmental organizations, and other academic fields.
