Challenges for sustainable care in public health fields are discussed, while extending and deepening our university network by inviting the speakers from Utah State University, a partner university of University of Tsukuba. This session provides an opportunity to introduce the MPH program of each school and exchange ideas on educational and research activities. |
Prof. Maya Miyairi
Associate Professor, Utah State University, Department of Kinesiology & Health Science Health Education & Promotion / MPH Program. As a faculty member in the KHS Department at USU - Brigham City Campus, I have served as a faculty sponsor for a student group called SPEAK (students promoting eating disorder awareness and knowledge) USU chapter at the Brigham City Campus. I have also been involved in the Brigham Suicide Prevention Coalition since 2016. I also serve on graduate student committees for the HEP MPH program.
Prof. Steven R. Hawks
Professor, Utah State University, Department of Kinesiology & Health Science Health Education & Promotion / MPH Program. After a 10-year stint in administration, I returned full-time to the faculty and now actively serve on the MPH steering committee in the Kinesiology and Health Science Department. I am on the Publications Board for the American Public Health Association, and have recently been a board member of the Utah Public Health Association. I am actively engaged in community health efforts in the Moab area where I am based.
Prof. Nanako Tamiya
Professor and Chair of Department of Health Services Research,(HSR) and also General Director of Research & Development Center for Health Services, University of Tsukuba. After graduating Tsukuba University Medical School, I conducted HSR to improve the Quality of Primary care and Long-term Care respecting clinical practice. Director of the Japanese Society of Public Health. A Member of the Data Health and Examination and Payment Institution Reform Advisory Group of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
Prof. Masahide Kondo
Professor, University of Tsukuba, Department of Health Care Policy and Health Economics. I joined University of Tsukuba 20 years ago as a health economist and have taken part in the development of MPH program. I am serving for the program as a head of educational affairs. I am a member of the board of directors of the Japanese Society of Health and Human Ecology.
