It is needless to say that that cooperation in academia across disciplines and national borders is necessary to solve the global-scale problems facing humanity today. Our university is also dedicated to promoting interdisciplinary integration and international cooperation, aiming to pioneer new research frontiers. This symposium will introduce international collaborative research activities across various academic fields, focusing on initiatives by the Trilateral University Center among University of Tsukuba, Université Grenoble Alpes, and National Taiwan University, as well as the overseas research laboratory J-FAST, established at Tsukuba by French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). Wei will discuss the role and potential of international cooperation in solving global issues.
現在の人類が直面する地球規模の問題の解決のためには、分野、国境を超えたアカデミアの協力が必要であることは論を俟たず、本学も異分野融合および国際協力の推進に力を注ぎ、新たな研究のフロンティア開拓を目指している。本シンポジウムは、筑波大学、グルノーブル・アルプ大学、台湾国立大学による3大学連携センターおよびフランス国立科学研究機構(CNRS)が本学に設置して海外研究拠点J-FASTの取組を中心に、アカデミアのさまざまな分野における国際的な連携研究の活動を紹介し、社会問題の解決のために国際協力の果たす役割と可能性を議論する。
